The morning started out at Shingle Creek Golf club, or as I call it, a sauna...


I golfed with two engineers Mike and Zach.  Good Guys.



Then it was on to the Convention Center to work the LOB booth.  The LOB accelerator is a really great resource for companies just starting to develop solutions on Windows Mobile for their businesses.  It has code, help, and other samples that you can utilize to get up and running fast.

In the evening we all went to Shula's steakhouse in the Dolphin hotel.  A great time was had by all.

To recap myday was spent fully dedicated to my breakout session XHTML and .mobi standards.  The attendees to my session were lucky because I was able to give away 2 Samsung Blackjack II's at the end of the breakout. 

I have some mixed feelings about the conference being split into a 2 week event.  I think it is a positive thing when IT pros are exposed to things in the developer's world and the same goes for developers being exposed to IT products.

Tomorrow I will be at the Mobile Line of Business Accelerator booth.     

This afternoon we had the walkthrough for the LOB booth and related Silverlight and Visual Studio 2008 booths.  There is alot of space this year around the stations.  Also this year each station has a white board on the back, very convenient...
 
 

When looking at the Line of Business Accelerator booth I thought I had maybe missed a product announcement.  Sync Services for ASO.Net????? 



Rabi Satter claims it is "Advanced Satter Objects".  It will be corrected to "ADO.Net" for tomorrow.

This evening we took no chances on dinner after the horrible experience at Vito's. Rob Tiffany , Rabi Satter and I dined at The Cheesecake Factory.  The rubber will meet the road in the morning with a keynote from Bill Gates.  Then TechEd 2008 will be kicked into full gear.

I arrived at the conference center and am busy in the speaker's lounge.

I visited with Rob Tiffany and Rabi Satter who were busy getting The LOB booth ready in TLC Yellow.  I will also be working the LOB booth this week.  I'll post more about that solution later.

Actually this is Day 1,  I am writing this on Monday.  Here is a rehash of Sunday 

Not much going on today. 
The day started with my checkin at the Rosen Plaza.  From my room you can makeout SeaWorld in the distance.  



At first I thought I was in an alternate universe when I arrived at the hotel. It seemed like everyone here has their hair dyed yellow and fuchsia.  I found out later that there is a major hair stylist convention going on at the same time as TechEd.



The day started with a  testy round of golf at Disney's Lake Buena Vista Golf Club.  There must be a drought here because the grass was spotty on many of the holes.  That did not effect my golf game which was even more spotty.



The day was wrapped up with dinner at Vito's chophouse, which I will never return to.  The serivce was awful.  Three wines ordered came back with the, "We don't have that in stock.", reply.  Most importantly the food was subpar.  So this is a warning to all who are in Orlando for TechEd the next two weeks...  Avoid Vito's.

I am giving a breakout session at 2008 TechEd Developer Conference in Orlando June 3rd to 6th.

It is titled "Mobile Web Design with XHTML and .Mobi Standards".  It will cover the new .mobi domain, its requirements, and how to design a user experience for all mobile device users.

I will also be at the Windows Mobile LOB (Line of Business) Accelerator booth.

GoDaddy.com is planning advertisements to show during the Super Bowl.  For the uninitiated, GoDaddy basically came from obscurity to become the dominant domain registrar via a Super Bowl commercial.
